Biography
Sam Longmore is an artist, electronic-musician and writer based in Auckland, New Zealand. His work is informed by the relationship between geography, soundscape and acoustics, sculpture and installation, and architecture and phenomenology.

Sam holds an MFA (1st hons) from the Elam School of Fine Arts and has performed/exhibited at galleries and project spaces in Aotearoa and abroad. He has also contributed writing to several institutions and journals, notably a piece for Artspace about Julian Priest’s 2014 Chartwell Stairwell commission, La Scala, and to the Goethe-Institut Neuseeland's Themendossier around Hanno Leichtmann's 2018 artist residency

Currently, Sam is on the external editorial board for the Writing Around Sound Sonic Arts Journaland works at The Audio FoundationAs of 2017, Longmore has also run mf/mp with Dunedin-based artist and musician Karl Leisky. mf/mp is a small imprint dedicated to producers of marginal, peripheral, or otherwise experimental electronic music. Principally, this involves the curation of editions split records on which geographically separate artists are paired.
